As a parent Paul found it hard to find a baby skincare range he trusted, a product made from natural ingredients, a desire growing amongst new Mums and Dads worldwide. Having reviewed the market we could clearly see a major gap in this area of the market, based on his global business he also understood the importance of producing an organic, vegan and incredibly a unique classification for Halal certified baby cosmetic product. Ireland has a growing reputation for producing quality, organic and natural products for the skin. Paul developed the range with a quality organic manufacturer completing the process following 3 years of research, certification and quality control together with a £500K investment. The cute animals featured on the bottles also have a family connection and meaning. Paul painted some of the characters on Findlay’s bedroom wall, so to continue the family theme they were developed to feature on the packaging.

A common way to manage dysphagia is to thicken drinks. Different people require different drink thicknesses so the drink must be the correct prescribed thickness for each patient. Different drinks at different temperatures require different amounts of thickener to achieve the same consistency. Currently there is no practical way to ensure that thickened drinks are at the prescribed consistency which causes errors that can be fatal. The global adoption of the new IDDSI Framework of drink thickness levels has exacerbated the problem and heightened awareness of the urgent need for a practical drink thickness test.
Viscgo have produced a simple device that checks a drink is at the prescribed thickness on the IDDSI Framework quickly and easily simply by standing or falling when placed in the drink. Viscgo are making minor improvements following beta testing and are gearing up for full market launch. Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) are Viscgo’s early adopters, recommenders and influencers. 98% of 80 SLTs surveyed would use and recommend Viscgo’s devices which are being used in a Global Health Research Group Project on improving stroke care in India with plans to extend this to other low-to-middle-income countries. The World Stroke Organization are adopting a new Swallow Screening Tool that Viscgo’s devices are an integral part of. Viscgo also have digital devices under development that can revolutionise the management of dysphagia and hydration with effective global IP protection. -
