The Information & Communications Technology (ICT or "Tech") Committee continues to inspire, educate and engage Chamber members and non-members on the transformative capabilities of technologies to their businesses.

2021 saw a "reboot" of our focus areas, our entire committee worked together - and had fun along the way - to understand the key technology areas that would be contributing to successful business in the coming years in supporting our Chamber. Looking ahead, the focus of our content for 2022 will be across 4 strategic thrusts:

  • Cyber security
  • Advanced data use and analytics
  • Smart Cities (the future of places and ICT)
  • Business (the future of work and ICT)

We have also recognised the opportunities and challenges of sustainability through technology use and actively work with our sustainability and energy committees on these matters. This included a collaborative effort in identifying 26 ways technology is supporting sustainability as a COP26 related article.

This is a great example of how our committee is achieving its goals -to add value to the Chamber and its members through activities that demonstrate the value of ICT solutions to their business; educate them on future ICT trends that will impact their businesses; offer member networking opportunities to better enable business across the region; share knowledge and insights, and attract new members to the chamber.

Over the course of the next 2 years we are looking to evolve our role from being “Network” focused to “Grow” business for our members, underpinned by championing diversity throughout:

  • Network – we have already put a sharp focus on personal commitment from our committee team, empowering individuals to build connections internally and with other Chamber committees, creating content focused on our strategic thrusts and enabling others at the same time.
  • Connect – we will connect our efforts to UK and Singapore triple-helix direction/advances in tech across business, government and academia.
  • Grow – we will seek out opportunities for our member organisations to grow as technology advances.
