Nanyang Technological University's Overseas Entrepreneurship Programme (OEP) is inviting BritCham member companies to host NTU undergraduates for six to twelve month internships in the UK, at no cost to the business.
Why it matters for members
For British companies eyeing the ASEAN market, or simply looking for sharp, motivated support for a live project, OEP offers a low-risk way to trial Asian talent and build relationships with one of the region's top universities.

Who the students are
- Student profile: Top undergraduates in their penultimate or final year, drawn from Engineering, Science, Computing, Business and more.
- Languages: Bilingual in English and a mother tongue such as Mandarin, Malay or Tamil, with some also fluent in French or German.
- Work readiness: More than 95% have prior working experience before applying for an OEP placement.
- Independence: Students arrange their own accommodation and visa application, with OEP's guidance.
- Mindset: Most have competition or project experience, and are used to solving problems independently.
Internship structure
- Duration: 6 to 12 months
- Intake: Starting January or July
- Coverage: UK, France, Finland and wider Europe
- Hours: As per a full-time member of staff
- Stipend: Local minimum wage, or a market-reasonable rate
OEP handles the logistics, you shape the experience
OEP takes care of:
- Pre-screening of students
- Visa guidance
- Insurance coverage
- Pre-departure briefing
- Accommodation guidance
- Pastoral care throughout the placement
Host companies provide:
- A suitable work scope and clear deliverables
- A mentor to guide the intern towards their objectives
- Feedback to NTU on intern performance
- A recommended stipend or allowance for daily expenses
