Edinburgh-based energy solutions firm Logan Energy Limited is to progress its activities within the hydrogen sector thanks to a £5 million investment from Singaporean green energy investment company Lanxing New Energy.

Logan Energy, which already supports hydrogen projects around the world, will use the funding to further develop its technology, facilities and expand internationally.

Commenting on the investment, Logan Energy's Chief Executive Bill Ireland said:

"It will also allow us to address the supply chain issues the industry is facing by developing key relationships with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and equipment developers around the globe and ramp up our ground-breaking research and development capabilities here in the UK using our unique knowhow around hydrogen systems."

Dr Yuxuan Zhang, Chief Executive of Lanxing New Energy, said:

"We’ve been impressed with the Logan Energy team and the progress they are making in the UK and European market.

"For us, it has been about finding the best partner to understand the complexities of integrated energy systems and develop advanced hydrogen technologies. We believe Logan Energy to be best in class."
