Regional Insights on the Road to Net Zero
November 03, 2020
In our Road to Net Zero Regional Insights, British Chamber colleagues across Southeast Asia gathered perspectives on the importance sustainability is given to member businesses.
The results show for almost three-quarters sustainability is considered an issue that can provide market differentiation, translate directly to cost-savings, and one which requires collective action. In the past five years, environmental issues have increased as a strategic priority for 89%, with Covid motivating organisations to be more sustainable for 78%.
Most have sustainability commitments, while those without defined actions facing obstacles such as management buy-in or considering their business too small to take effective action.
Thank you to all those who contributed to this outreach - the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC), British Chamber of Commerce Philippines, British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar, British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT), BritCham Cambodia, H.E Kara Owen, Sarah Cragg, and members who shared their thoughts on the importance of the topic.
