Meet Beazley: Finalists for Employer of the Year in our Annual Business Awards

What's made them Finalists

With a focus on providing employees with the autonomy to design their work days in a way that best optimises their own productivity while ensuring what's best for the business, Beazley creates an inclusive, collaborative culture where all of its employees are given equal opportunities to grow, learn and contribute their voices.

Empowering employees and encouraging productivity through autonomy

By cultivating a two way relationship that looks at what works best for individuals as well as the business, Beazley provides employees with ownership and choices over how they plan their days. Employees are empowered with the autonomy to build schedules and manage their time in a way that best optimises their productivity through the flexibility of being able to work when and where it suits them best. Employees are also empowered to make these decisions in whichever way they feel best works for their clients, teams, and businesses to deliver excellence to stakeholders.

5 networks run for and by employees also ensures that colleagues across the company, in different territories, functions and levels have channels through which their voices can be heard, enabling them to get involved in tackling some of the complex business issues that will help create more equal and inclusive culture. Their efforts to further empower employees continues through an initiative that provides colleagues with the opportunity to get involved in projects outside of their day-to-day roles, creating an extra outlet for them to learn new skills.

Employee engagement, collaboration and supporting career growth

Beazley actively encourages further learning for employees through initiatives such as iLearn, the organisations learning management system, which provides employees with access to live trainings, online courses and a full library of learning materials. Their efforts to drive professional development also includes access to 16,000 courses on LinkedIn Learning as well as support for study fees, expenses, and study leave for employees looking to pursue relevant professional qualifications.

To foster a culture of collaboration, the Beazley Citizen programme supports individuals or teams in need of additional support during busy periods. Employees who may have spare time to help out in a different sector of the business are matched with Beazley Citizen requests. Their internal mentoring programme and portal also helps match mentors and mentees across the organisation to further develop their professional skills.
