2023 (I)GCSE: Impressive Results across the Board
Source: Press release
Well done to our 2023 (I)GCSE students who achieved an impressive set of results across the board.
Their effort and hard work are evident as highlighted by Chris Seal, Head of Senior School:
“We are delighted with and proud of the achievements of our students this year in external examinations. All indicators suggested a return to 2019 levels of attainment but 59% of all GCSE grades at A* and 81% of all grades being A*/A is an extraordinary set of results in any year and significantly surpass those of 2019. These outstanding outcomes are testament to the skilful work of our staff, the huge potential of our students and the aspirational support of our parents. Outcomes matter, but Tanglin’s outcomes are our people and now these students move on to the next stage of education filled with confidence, skills and knowledge that will serve them well.’
Specific achievements include:
- 59% of grades were A*
- 92% of grades were A* to B
- 99% of grades were A* to C
The figures really come into their own when compared with schools in England, with 81% of Tanglin students achieving A* to A versus just 46.6% in Independent Schools in England.
The students can be proud of their achievements which mark the gateway from Upper School to Sixth Form. We wish them every success as they continue their journey towards attaining IB or A-Level as part of our unique Sixth Form offering.
