Dover Court International School (DCIS) proudly marked the official opening of its new Sixth Form Centre in the presence of His Excellency Nikesh Mehta, British High Commissioner to Singapore, alongside the launch of the Year 13 IBDP Visual Arts Exhibition, States of Flux.

The evening highlighted the school’s commitment to creativity, academic excellence and future-focused education. Bringing together the launch of a major new learning space with the annual Visual Arts Exhibition created an inspiring occasion, celebrating both the achievements of graduating artists and the exciting future of Dover Court’s Sixth Form community.

A Showcase of Creativity: States of Flux

The annual Year 13 Visual Arts Exhibition offered a preview of the exceptional work produced by students over their two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) journey. This year’s exhibition, States of Flux, showcased a diverse range of media, including photography, painting and drawing, sculpture, textiles, digital art and installation pieces.

The collection explored a wide array of personal and global themes, from feminism and decay to marine damage, identity and personal transformation. Each exhibition space was intentionally curated, reflecting both the individuality of the artists and the depth of their creative processes.

The evening provided an opportunity for parents, friends and teachers to celebrate not only the final artworks, but also the reflection, experimentation and development that underpin the IBDP Visual Arts experience.

A Purpose-Built Space for Independence and Futures

The event also marked the official opening of the new Sixth Form Centre, a purpose-built, two-storey facility designed to support student wellbeing, independent learning and university preparation.

The Centre includes:

  • Dedicated spaces for personalised academic and wellbeing support
  • Flexible learning areas for independent study and collaboration
  • A dedicated university and careers guidance floor for family consultations and meetings with international representatives

The design places student agency at its core, creating an environment that nurtures confidence, ambition and self-direction.

Chris Short, Interim Principal of Dover Court International School, commented:

“The Sixth Form Centre represents a significant step forward for the school. It provides students with a space that is truly their own — one designed to nurture confidence, independence and ambition. Standing alongside the creativity of the Year 13 artists was a powerful reminder of the extraordinary potential of young people. This centre, and evenings such as this, celebrate who they are now and who they are becoming.”

A Future-Focused Sixth Form Experience

With strong outcomes across both the IB Diploma Programme and BTEC pathways, Dover Court’s Sixth Form offers personalised academic routes supported by specialist teachers and dedicated university guidance.

As part of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools, students also benefit from global opportunities, international collaborations and access to a worldwide network of expertise — preparing them not only for university, but for life as globally minded citizens.

The opening of the Sixth Form Centre marks a significant milestone in Dover Court’s continued development and reinforces its position as a forward-thinking international school serving families across Singapore.
