Trovio, a leader in digital registry solutions for environmental assets, is pleased to announce the expansion of its contract with the Australian Federal Government’s Clean Energy Regulator (CER). This expansion broadens Trovio’s role in supporting the nation’s transition to a sustainable economy by incorporating additional environmental asset classes into its digital registry platform, CorTenX.

Under the expanded agreement, Trovio’s registry technology will now support alongside ACCUs:

  • Guarantee of Origin (GO) Certificates - Enhancing transparency in emissions accounting for Australian products across domestic and international markets.
  • Nature Repair Market (NRM) Units - Supporting biodiversity and ecosystem restoration efforts by providing a secure and verifiable mechanism for nature-based projects.
  • Internationally Transferable Kyoto Units - Globally recognised credits originating from the Kyoto Protocol, enabling verified emissions reductions to be traded across international markets.
  • Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) Certificates - Ensuring real-time tracking and verification of renewable energy consumption.
  • Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) - Strengthening Australia’s renewable energy market by providing a single seamless registry for corporate sustainability commitments.
  • Safeguard Mechanism Credits (SMCs) - Supporting emissions reduction under Australia’s Safeguard Mechanism framework.

Trovio is a long-term technology partner of the Clean Energy Regulator, providing secure, transparent, and compliant registry services for energy transition assets. With this expansion, Trovio’s CorTenX platform will underpin the tracking and verification of an even wider range of environmental commodities, while helping reinforce Australia’s position as a global leader in climate and energy market innovation.

Jon Deane, CEO of Trovio, added,

“We are excited to deepen our partnership with the Clean Energy Regulator. Expanding our support across these key environmental markets aligns with our vision of delivering next-generation digital infrastructure to accelerate the energy transition. This collaboration ensures Australian businesses and investors can operate with greater certainty, trust, and efficiency in sustainability markets.”

This expansion underscores Trovio’s commitment to support government, corporate, and institutional stakeholders in meeting sustainability targets while unlocking new opportunities for participation in environmental asset markets.
