Resounding A-Level Results From The Tanglin Cohort of 2023

Congratulations to our A Level students who have delivered another year of stellar success. The results speak for themselves with 58% achieving an A or A*, compared to the UK average of 27.2%. The challenging Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) aspect of the A Level course was a particular academic highlight with 74% of students achieving an A* to A grade.

Overall successes include:

  • 79% of all grades were A* to B
  • 27% of all grades were A*
  • 42% of all EPQ grades were A*

Andy Goodliffe, Head of Sixth Form at Tanglin Trust School: ‘I am especially proud of the results achieved by the resilient Class of 2023. These students have fought adversity along the way. It feels almost surreal to remember that they spent the first 50% of their Sixth Form journeys wearing masks and circumnavigating various COVID measures. This, combined with the fact that this cohort did not sit their GCSE exams, makes their individual successes so much more impressive. These excellent outcomes allow them to matriculate to a wonderful array of top global universities, where they will continue to make us proud as impressive Tanglin alumni. I wish them all well’.

Craig Considine, CEO of Tanglin Trust School: ‘Exam grades have returned to pre-pandemic levels, and we are delighted that our students have achieved so well. We wish them well for their future destinations which include exceptional universities, National Service, work and gap years’.

Tanglin continues to stand out as the only International School in Singapore that offers students the choice to pursue either A - Level or IB at 6th form. Both study options consistently deliver excellent exam results, with Tanglin 2023 IB cohort achieving a 38.7 average score (global average 30.2). These student achievements reflect the school’s commitment to create a community of learners, who contribute with confidence in the world.
