Singapore extends list of VTL countries; adds capacity to daily quota of VTL flights
Singapore's Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI) announced on 15th November that the successful implementation of the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) without compromising public health has given CAAS the confidence to extend the scheme to more countries.
Indonesia, India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are in Category II of MOH’s Country/Region Classification for Border Measures; they have similar or lower COVID-19 incidence rates than Singapore and the other VTL countries. Singapore are opening to them with safeguards, including proof of vaccination and testing. Capacity will be managed through the VTL quota. Singapore will increase the VTL quota for all VTL countries from 6,000 to 10,000 travellers daily.
Travellers from Indonesia may enter Singapore under the VTL from 29 November 2021, though this is unilateral for now until Indonesia is able to welcome travellers once again. Travellers from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) may enter Singapore under the VTL from 6 December 2021. A VTL for India for entry into Singapore is intended to launch from 29 November 2021.
Below are the updated border measures from MTI. For ease of understanding, where a traveller is not using a VTL, they should review the category of their originating country, i.e. if coming from the UK without a VTL, a 7-day SHN would apply and the existing work pass entry approval measures from MOM (where applicable).
