In addition, Tanglin was also the finalist in the Strategic Leadership Category.

ISC Research’s International School Awards recognise outstanding initiatives being implemented in English-medium international schools around the world. There are 10 award categories this year, each focusing on a fundamental aspect of international school life. This year, ISC Research received 291 entries from international schools in 61 countries.

Craig Considine, CEO, Tanglin Trust School said:

“We are delighted to win these awards. To take home the highly coveted International School of the Year is recognition of the innovation and outstanding practice that occurs at Tanglin. The awards are also testament of our commitment in the provision of quality, holistic education to our students. These world class awards go to all our faculty staff members, students and the Tanglin community. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.”

Ethical Values Through Respecting Children’s Rights

Tanglin is the first school outside of the United Kingdom to accredited by UNICEF as a Rights Respecting School. The RRSA is a moral framework based on 54 articles of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, with the aim of embedding children’s human rights into the school’s ethos and culture. The RRSA reflects the school’s core values of Respect, Responsibility and Purpose, and provides meaningful learning opportunities, sparks interest in global issues and, most importantly, empowers children to exercise their rights, and to be responsible, active citizens. Through the RRSA, students at Tanglin learn that many children globally do not have the privilege to access their rights. This awareness has allowed the children to question and develop a keen interest in global events that raise rights issues. These include World Religion Day, International Day of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Autism Awareness Day and more.
