Donations to support Relief Efforts in Ukraine

The ongoing military offensive in Ukraine has driven more than one million refugees to neighbouring countries in just seven days. The majority of refugees are women, children and older persons, and they are in dire need of protection and support. Many more people are still on the move, and an estimated 4 million people may flee Ukraine in the coming weeks and months.

Singapore Red Cross

In response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) will contribute US$100,000 to support affected communities, working through the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), in their ongoing response. The support will go towards the provision of relief supplies such as hygiene kits, family kits and household kits for the vulnerable who are displaced by the conflict.

In addition, SRC has launched a public fundraising appeal from 25 February to 31 May 2022 to raise more funds to aid the expected massive humanitarian operations.

Half a million children have reportedly fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries, with the number of refugees continuing to grow.

Save the Children

Save the Children is concerned for children caught in the middle of armed conflict, forced from their homes in freezing temperatures, and exposed to injury, hunger and cold. A donation to the Save the Children’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund can help provide children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance.
